Did you read the recent [news](http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200603/s1596925.htm) that Kim Beazley has outlined a plan that would force ISPs to filter pornographic content?
Whilst I agree that parents do not want their children exposed to pornography, forcing service providers to filter content is the wrong way of going about it.
As a parent, it is my responsibility to censor Internet content with my children. It is NOT the government’s responsibility nor is it their right.
Back off Kim and leave the Internet and parenting alone!
It’s clear to me that Mr. Beazley is trying to appeal to the conservative, IT illeterate. We know that information, all information, wants to be free and accessible. The statement appears to be ill advised as the reality is that there are so many sources from which to find pornography that it would be a practical impossibility to enforce.
He’s still in the Matrix.
