As a foodie, I’ve always wanted to go to a Michelin starred restaurant. Thanks to the generosity of my mates, I can now say I have.

We went to Nara Thai, a restaurant awarded a Michelin star for it’s Khao Soi dish. I have to say, it lived up to expectations. The broth was creamy, spicy with a great depth of flavour. The chicken was so tender it fell off the bone.

Khao Soi is a soup made with a hearty broth and chicken. According to Wikipedia, “The dish is believed to have evolved from Chin Haw Muslim traders who plied the spice route when what is now modern-day northern Thailand was controlled by the Burmese.”

It set a high bar for Thai restaurants back home in Australia.
