Two large swimming pools can be seen in this night shot

My first visit to Pattaya, Thailand. I booked a room at the Hard Rock Hotel, mainly because of its’ location in central Pattaya. There’s also live music every night.

After checking in, we went looking for something to eat in a ”rod ban tuk”. Basically a ute with seating at the sides. It was quite late and the streets were relatively quiet I’m told. By Australian standards it was busy. Motorcycles and scooters dominate the flow.

We ended up at a small restaurant. I had a favourite – Kao Pad Gai (Fried Rice with chicken).

I can’t believe how many bars there are. Although I shouldn’t be surprised as I’d read up on it before arriving and knew it was a massively popular tourist destination.

I’m looking forward to exploring tomorrow.
